Information the app uses
With your permission, Simply Cycle uses precise location to center the map, calculate speed and distance, and record your route. During an active ride, location updates continue in the background, including when your screen is locked.
Saved rides include route coordinates and timestamps, ride date, distance, moving time, and maximum speed. The app also stores preferences such as units, map orientation, and automatic pause. A local checkpoint helps recover an interrupted ride.
Where your information stays
Ride history, preferences, and recovery information are stored locally on your device. Simply Cycle does not operate a server that receives your ride records and does not sell ride or location information. Your device’s backup and system services are controlled by your Apple settings.
Maps and Apple services
The app displays maps using Apple Maps. Apple may process information needed to provide maps and location services under its own privacy practices. These services are subject to your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy.
When you choose to share
You can export a ride as a GPX file through the iOS share sheet. GPX files contain route coordinates and timestamps that can reveal where you have been. The destination you choose handles the exported file under its own policies.
Your choices and retention
You can change or revoke location permission in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Simply Cycle. Revoking permission limits map positioning and ride recording. Ride records remain in the app’s local storage until that storage is removed. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading the app may retain it. Exported files and device backups must be managed separately.

This website
Simply Cycle does not currently use website analytics, advertising scripts, or cookies. The hosting provider may process standard connection information, such as IP address and request details, to deliver and secure the website.
We may add website analytics in the future to understand how visitors use the site and improve its content. Before enabling analytics, we will update this policy to describe the provider, the information processed, how it is used, how long it is retained, and any available privacy choices, including whether cookies or similar technologies are used.
Website analytics would be separate from ride recording in the app. Adding analytics to this website would not give the website access to the rides or routes stored on your phone.
